"The individual action and protest we take today is a great first step but what we must demand now is political action and financial investment in a green economy. The Liberal Democrats will take this essential step to address the climate emergency."

The Zero Carbon Britain which will set new legally binding targets to reduce net UK greenhouse gas emissions to zero.

  • Supporting the renewable energy sector to ensure that 60% of our electricity is sustainably generated by 2030.
  • Reforming vehicle taxation to encourage sales of electric and low-emission vehicles.
  • Making energy-saving a top infrastructure priority.
