The Liberal Democrats put forward Julia Aglionby as their Climate Change Champion for Carlisle.
Julia Aglionby, Liberal Democrat prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Carlisle, joined the platform on the Global Climate Change Strike Action as a keynote speaker at the event on Friday 20th September.
Julia said:
"The individual action and protest we take today is a great first step but what we must demand now is political action and financial investment in a green economy. The Liberal Democrats will take this essential step to address the climate emergency."
The Climate Change Strike in Carlisle was an energetic gathering with young and old. Speakers as young as six and seven spoke passionately about their concerns for our Climate and their future. If elected, Julia will work tirelessly to enact policies to limit climate change, including a Zero Carbon Britain Act. The Zero Carbon Britain which will set new legally binding targets to reduce net UK greenhouse gas emissions to zero.

Julia supports the development of community energy saving schemes and will strive to ensure that Carlisle is at the forefront of the green City Initiative proposed by the Liberal Democrats. Julia believes that an increase in electric vehicle use and clean energy will improve our environment for all.
