No Deal Benefits Speculators

Phillip Hammond, the former Chancellor of the Exchequer and recently expelled member of the Conservative party, has all-but confirmed online rumours that speculators backing the current government have bet billions on a hard-Brexit.

Carlisle Lib Dems - No Deal Benefits Speculators

Hammond, interviewed in The Times, said "As his sister [Boris Johnson's] has reminded us, he [Boris] is backed by speculators who have bet billions on a hard Brexit - and there is only one outcome that works for them: a crash-out no-deal Brexit that sends the currency tumbling and inflation soaring."

This reckless pursuit of financial reward at the expense of the many may enrich city traders, but it will be the people of the UK and Carlisle who will pay for this for decades to come.

There is another way. Liberal Democrats passionately believe that Britain is stronger in the European Union. We are the biggest, strongest anti-Brexit party and we have led the fight to stop Brexit for three years. Let's stop the Conservative party playing with all our lives, Vote for Julia Aglionby for Carlisle MP. A strong majority Lib Dem government will revoke Article 50 on Day 1 and then get on with rebuilding our country.
