Speculation is mounting that October will see Labour table a motion of no-confidence in the government of Boris Johnson in order to prevent a no-deal crash-out brexit.

It is vitally important that you register to vote now. Do not delay.

You can visit the Carlisle City Council website at https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote for further details or go directly to https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote in order to complete the information and ensure you don't lose your voice.

You will need to provide your date of birth and National Insurance number. If you live abroad you may need to provide your passport details.

Who can vote

You can vote for if:

  • You are normally resident in the Carlisle City Council area
  • Over 16 (but you cannot vote until your 18th birthday)
  • A British or Commonwealth citizen
  • A citizen of the Irish Republic or of another European Union Member State.

If you are a student at Uni in Carlisle or if you have a home somewhere else, you can register at both addresses, but only vote in one place

This will be one of the most important elections of our lifetimes and an extremely important election for Carlisle and Cumbria. Please ensure you are registered and consider volunteering to help the Lib Dems in our bid to get Julia Aglionby elected as Liberal Democrat MP for Carlisle.
