Lib Dems announce £9,000 Adult Education & Skills Funding

Layla Moran Shadow Cabinet member for EducationAt the recent Liberal Democrats conference in Bournemouth the party unveiled a new £9,000 lifelong learning and skills fund for every person in the UK.

Under proposals unveiled by the Lib Dems every person will receive a Personal Education and Skills Account (PESA) into which a Liberal government will make 3 payments over the course of someones life of £3,000.

From 25 years old people would be able to access the funds to pay for training and careers advice in order to maximise their skills and earnings.

Lib Dems Education Spokesperson Layla Moran said:

"Liberal Democrats are the party of education - from the early years right through to adulthood. That's why we've committed to a massive investment package for our colleges and new Personal Education and Skills Accounts that give people the power to decide how, when, where and what they learn."
