Heidi Allen Joins the Liberal Democrats
Join the Lib Dems
Heidi Allen, the former Conservative MP for South Cambridgeshire has joined the Lib Dems.
Heidi, who has represented her constituency since 2015, resigned from the Conservatives in February 2019. Before politics she worked for many organisations, including ExxonMobile and Royal Mail.
In September 2018 Heidi said there was "no alternative other than asking - should we come to that, no deal, that looks like that's what's going to happen - then we need to go back to the public to decide what they want us to do next."
Heidi joins Luciana Berger, Sam Gyimah, Phillip Lee, Angela Smith and Sarah Wollaston in joining the Liberal Democrats in recent months. On joining us Heidi said: "I recognise that the best way to serve my constituents and country is to join the Liberal Democrats. The Conservatives and Labour parties have turned their backs on the liberal, pragmatic centre-ground, having shifted to the extremes."
