    Heidi, who has represented her constituency since 2015, resigned from the Conservatives in February 2019. Before politics she worked for many organisations, including ExxonMobile and Royal Mail.

    Rory Stewart Resigns

    Rory Stewart, MP for Penrith and the Border has today resigned the Conservative whip and will not stand in the coming General election.

    Rory, who has been MP for Penrith and the Border for 10 years, said "It's been a great privilege to serve Penrith and The Border for the last ten years, so it is with sadness that I am announcing that I will be standing down at the next election and that I have also resigned from the Conservative Party."

    Under proposals unveiled by the Lib Dems every person will receive a Personal Education and Skills Account (PESA) into which a Liberal government will make 3 payments over the course of someones life of £3,000.

    Equality at the heart of Policy Making

    Unlike any other major party, the Liberal Democrats have kept equality at the heart of the policymaking process. The following list represents the democratically decided policy of the entire party:

    • Continuing to move towards fully Equal Marriage
    • Ending the blood donation ban
    • Ending LGBT Conversion therapy
    • Banning homophobic chanting at sports matches
    • Ensuring inclusive sexualities' in advertising, media, and sport and positive images of transgender individuals in central government publications
    • Introducing "X" gender markers on passports
    • Removing the requirement for a diagnosis of gender dysphoria in order to obtain legal gender recognition
    • Ending deportation of LGBT people to countries where they face LGBT-based persecution.

    Phillip Hammond, the former Chancellor of the Exchequer and recently expelled member of the Conservative party, has all-but confirmed online rumours that speculators backing the current government have bet billions on a hard-Brexit.

    Hammond, interviewed in The Times, said "As his sister [Boris Johnson's] has reminded us, he [Boris] is backed by speculators who have bet billions on a hard Brexit - and there is only one outcome that works for them: a crash-out no-deal Brexit that sends the currency tumbling and inflation soaring."
